Jay was always energetic, positive and inspiring and Terry shared lots of nuggets of wisdom about getting ahead in the industry. I can safely say that I left feeling like I got very good value for money, due to the amount and quality of the one on one tutorial time, which you rarely get on other DJ courses in London. Its a great set up and they sound very tight when playing along with the click and samples, but the guitarist wants to now add in a looper pedal. This adds an issue because the loops will not be perfectly in time with the band/samples after it loops a couple progressions. He can tap-tempo, but that will never be spot on with the click or samples. The Pigtronix looper pedal (Infinity Looper) can act as a salve via MIDI, so I'm looking to convert the current audio signal that has the click & samples on it into MIDI in real-time.
I know the ideal way to do this would be to play the click and samples out of a software like Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, etc.. out through a MIDI interface which could then go to the guitarists pedal, but we've tried that before and the software and/or computer has froze up more than once, so its just not worth the risk anymore. Simply playing from an iPod/iTunes is MUCH safer.
Does anyone know of a piece of hardware that would work for this type of set up? I would be willing to use a standalone software or plug-in, but it would have to be fail-safe, or use VERY low amounts of memory and CPU.
Thanks in advance for any tips!
